National Anti Drugs Agency (BNN) gave high appreciation for 12 soldiers of 432 KOSTRAD Border Security Task Force (BSTF) for their efforts to prevent drugs smuggling through RI – PNG border. During performing the security along the border in Keerom District, 432 KOSTRAD BSTF has already caught drugs smuggler several times.
Keerom Regent, Celcius Watimena, said that drugs smuggling has became a serious problem in Keerom because there are many penetration points along 300 km borderline in Keerom District. “Even now, Keerom not only being a smuggling line, but also already being area for drugs production.”
While socializing Anti Drugs campaign, Brigadir General (Police) Bambang, the BNN officer, said that nowadays drugs is already being a common enemy for the nation. “Drugs could destroy our national future. That’s why all national elements should join drugs elimination efforts.”
These twelve soldiers are posted in Skomto BSTF Post. The post has performed drugs sweeping activelly during their security assignment. “We are very thankfull for this achievement certificate, may this appreciation motivate all soldiers to do best service for our beloved country,” said Lt Col. Ahmad Daud, 432 KOSTRAD BSTF Commander.
